about last night

Last night I had an event that I went to in order to support a friend of mine, typical Tuesday casual night in the burbs but of course if you give me a reason to dress up I take it to the next level, as in the words of J.D. in one of my favorite cult classic movie of all time Heather's "the extreme always seems to make an impression", right?  Right, I totally agree.  So anyway back to my outfit, I really love diving into trends when they happen and lately the off the shoulder big sleeve trend has been speaking to me in a big way, and so what I normally do is take the most bold and out there way the trend is being done and make it my own, case in point this AMAZING top from Storets, a place I just discovered which I feel like is my spirit website, haha.  Also public service announcement I wouldn't recommend wearing this top in a candlelit room as the sleeves did get caught a few times and the impression you don't want to make is catching on fire, while trying to look effortlessly cool, haha!!!  So then because I don't like to just wear one trend at a time I paired it with these vintage sequin jeans I got at a consignment store like 3 years ago and have that perfect old school mom fit that all the high fashion stores are trying to copy but really there is nothing like the original!  Now onto accessories, because no outfit is officially complete in my book without the correct, jewelry, bag, shoes, belt, etc!  I have been casually (or maybe insanely) lusting after these seriously ridiculous N°21 shoes, but instead settled for these Zara ones which I then added vintage shoe clips to (obsessed with shoe clips, but that might be it's own post one of these days:)  Then I added oversize earrings from H&M along with a necklace that I added feathers to (also my crafting obsession with my bestie is also going to have it's own post!!) and this BCBG belt that I picked up at a consignment store about 3 years ago as well that I literally wear with everything!!!  Then I added my Valentino all over rock stud bag which I got like 6 years ago but is still completely relevant, love, love, love Valentino!!!
