winter white
So this weekend I went to visit one of my bestie's that moved to Boston and typical me I waited until Saturday morning to actually pack, not smart because it takes me a while, just ask my husband, haha! So I did do a little homework on Friday night, my semi packing process I guess you would call it, and it usually helps me a ton. I was beat from the week, put the kids to bed and was just so uninspired to figure out my outfits but the one thing that gets me motivated and ideas pumping is browsing through magazines. So I put on Ferris Bueller's Day Off (one of my favorite movies) thanks to Netflix and started going through the latestPeople Style Watch and started to email myself possible outfit options that I would eventually try on the next morning. So I can't remember if it was something that I saw in People or maybe Sloan's white fringe leather jacket in the movie that inspired me to do an all white/off white combo but ta-da, here it is! I love creating interest in outfits through texture, especially if I am going to do a mono chromatic look. So first I put on an off white high low blouse I got from Anthropologie a while ago which has this pretty jacquard pattern woven into the fabric, then I added a sweater with a rose embroidered from H&M, a faux fur shearling vest, and a furry sweater/jacket that I also got at H&M. Paired all of that with white Alice & Olivia jeans, platform sneakers from Zara, my Valentino cross body bag, and a leopard beanie. Now I know there is that old no white after Labor Day silly rule, but if you have read my previous posts you know that I don't really follow the fashion rules. White in the winter is so pretty and feels fresh and unexpected, so who cares if people give you the double take, that makes it more fun right! One thing I will say, this all white ensemble is best to wear when not with your children, my jeans were a bit of a grey tone after spending all day trying to dodge their little dirty sneakers (evidence below:) when they sat on my lap, but then again that's what Oxy Clean is for:) And also shout out to Maureen for all my awesome outfit pics on Sunday, love you:)
